Our Wedding

A Love Rekindled
 
Our story began in the summer of 2012 at Saint Martin's University, amidst the bustle of their international summer programs. Jing was a high school junior and Elijah was in eighth grade. From that initial meeting, a friendship blossomed. Years passed, marked by continued involvement with the summer programs, and our bond only deepened.
 
College brought us even closer. We started spending more time together, reaching out to each other constantly. In 2018, our friendship evolved into our first relationship. However, the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic led us to drift apart, and we ended our relationship in 2020. For three years, we embarked on separate journeys, using that time to learn more about ourselves individually.
 
Then, in 2023, a simple text message reconnected us. Neither of us knew that this seemingly casual exchange would rekindle the profound love we once shared. We were clear from the outset: just friends, nothing more. But the more we talked and spent time together, a new love began to form. A kiss on the forehead as we said goodbye after one of our hangouts cemented the feelings we had for each other, drawing us back into a relationship on November 4th, 2023.
 
Throughout that first year back together, we both realized we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with each other. And so, in Japan, on September 23, 2024, we got engaged, ready to write the next chapter of our story together.

We truly wish we could celebrate with everyone at every part of the day, but our ceremony space is limited. Some guests are invited to both the ceremony and reception, while others are invited to join us for the reception celebration. WEDDING DETAILS

What time should I arrive at the venue?

CEREMONY:To ensure a smooth and uninterrupted ceremony, please arrive 20-30 minutes before the ceremony begins to allow time for parking and get seated (Ceremony begins at 3pm). Kindly note that once the ceremony has begun, the doors will close and late entry will not be permitted. Guests arriving after the start time will be asked to remain in the reception area until the ceremony has finished. RECEPTION:Please allow 10–15 minutes before your planned arrival to park and get settled.Cocktail hour kicks off at 4:00 PM, and we can’t wait to cheers with you!

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place? 

We’ll go from “walk down the aisle and say our I do’s” straight through to “last call” at Indian Summer Country &amp; Golf Club. One venue, endless magic — no venue‑hopping, just non‑stop celebrating!

What is the timeline for the day (ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner)?

Ceremony — 3:00 PMCeremony guests, please arrive 30 minutes early to allow time for parking and seating. Once the ceremony begins, the venue will close the doors, and late arrivals won’t be able to enter."If you LATE, you WAIT." Cocktail Hour — 4:00 PMSip, mingle, and ease into celebration mode. Reception Doors Open — 4:30 PMMake your way in and settle into your assigned seat at your own pace. Feel free to explore the space, capture a few moments, and take in the atmosphere—there’s an energy here worth savoring. Are you having an "unplugged" ceremony?

Ceremony = phones off, hearts on. 📵 Please keep phones tucked away so our photography team can work their magic. Please remain at your seats and keep the aisle clear so our photographer can catch our grand walk back down the aisle as a newly wed couple. Thank you for being the best!

Are children invited?

Yes! Little humans are absolutely invited. For Our Ceremony Guests With Young Children:To help keep the ceremony peaceful and uninterrupted, we kindly ask for your support. For families with children under the age of six, we’ve reserved a special seating area. This space allows you to step away comfortably if needed while still having a clear view of the ceremony — perfect for wiggles, whispers, or quick breaks. Reception Details for Kids:Children ages 4–11 will have their very own kid‑friendly menu. Please be sure to include this information when you RSVP, so we can plan accordingly!

Can I bring a plus one?

Only immediate family members in your party but a plus one is welcome as long as you coordinated prior with the couple. Should your listed guest be unable to attend or their name needs updating, kindly let us know at least three weeks prior (August 3, 2026) by emailing us at jedmwedding2026@gmail.com. Please note that once your RSVP is submitted, we’re unable to add additional guests.

How do I know where to sit?

Ceremony Guests: Open seating with an exception to reserve seating for immediate family members of the bride and groom and the sponsors/godparents. To Our Guests With Young Children:In an effort to preserve the serenity and flow of our wedding ceremony, we kindly request your assistance in minimizing any potential disruptions. For guests accompanied by children under six years of age, a designated seating area has been reserved to allow you to step away comfortably if needed, while still maintaining a clear view of the ceremony. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Reception Guests:We will be using assigned seating to ensure families and friends can enjoy the evening together.Your table assignment will be displayed at the entrance.

Is there transportation being provided to/from the hotel?

Transportation won’t be provided , we recommend to grab an Uber or Lyft.Turn up the vibes, and meet us at the party! Indian Summer also offers on‑site parking for our guests, so you’re welcome to drive if you prefer. Just a little reminder — safety first, always — so please plan your transportation accordingly.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Ceremony: Outdoors. Think fresh air, pretty views, and a little sunshine magic. Cocktail Hour &amp; Reception: Indoors. Come ready to sip, mingle, and dance the night away in comfort!

What is the dress code?/Is there a theme?

Dress to celebrate!Cocktail, Rustic, Semi-Formal or Daytime looks are perfect. You can incorporate black or white, just NO full monochrome black or white outfits. NO casual wear allowed. We also kindly request that guests DO NOT wear the traditional Filipino barong. Other than that, have fun with your outfit… we’re excited to see everyone looking amazing! Please refer to our Guest Attire page for examples.

What should I wear? (e.g., shoe suggestions for grass/sand)

Ceremony:The ceremony will be held outdoors on the grass, so we kindly suggest wearing shoes that won’t sink or slip — think wedges, block heels, dressy flats, or anything comfortable for a grassy stroll. Reception:The reception will be indoors, so feel free to swap into your party shoes and dance the night away!

What is the weather like this time of year? 

Expect unpredictable weather. Please check the forecast ahead of time. It can be sunny or it can be rainy, or it could be both, honestly, who know?Temperatures can ranges between 60 to 90 degrees.

Will there be food served?

You bet! We’ve got you covered from apps to dinner! Cocktail Hour:We’ll start the evening with a variety of bite‑sized treats perfect for snacking while you mingle. Drinks:A full bar will be available!It won’t be hosted all night, so feel free to bring cash or cardfor any additional beverages you’d like to enjoy. Reception Dinner:A full dinner will be served during the reception. Come ready for a delicious meal and a good time!

How do I let you know about dietary requirements?

This will be a plated dinner, so we want to make sure everyone is taken care of allergies or dietary restrictions for each guest attending. **A follow-up email will be sent 30 days prior to the event.** Your notes help us make sure every plate is safe and delicious!

Is there an open bar?

Each guest will receive one drink ticket to enjoy an alcoholic beverage or soda on us! After that, the bar will switch to non‑hosted. You’re welcome to purchase additional drinks using cash or card. Cheers to celebrating!!!!

What time should I go home? 

End time 10 PM.

Gifting Details

We&#8217;ll have QR codes available at the wedding for anyone who&#8217;d like to gift toward our date&#8209;night fund, first&#8209;home fund, honeymoon, or other future adventures. Your presence truly means the world, so please don&#8217;t feel obligated &#8212; this is simply an option for anyone who prefers it.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
